Police: Cortland home had 50 marijuana plants

CORTLAND – Two men were arrested Wednesday after sheriff’s police said they found six pounds of marijuana and more than 50 marijuana plants in their home.

Tadd W. Reiter, 31, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful production of marijuana plants, according to a news release. Sheriff’s police searched his home in the 200 block of North Somonauk Road in Cortland about 5 a.m. Wednesday, the news release states.

If convicted of the most serious charge, Reiter could face up to 15 years in prison. His bond will be set in court this morning.

Gerald M. Bute, 44, also of the 200 block of North Somonauk Road, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He remained in DeKalb County Jail on Wednesday unable to post 10 percent of his $1,500 bond.
