A man was transported to the hospital after his pickup truck collided with a smaller truck near at the intersection of First Street and Lincoln Highway in DeKalb on Monday morning.

DeKALB – A 39-year-old DeKalb man was taken to Kishwaukee Hospital after his truck collided with another truck and overturned Monday in downtown DeKalb, police said.

About 10:35 a.m., Jonathan B. Colvin, of the 700 block of Kensington Boulevard, DeKalb, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado north on South First Street, approaching the intersection with Lincoln Highway, DeKalb police said in a news release.

Colvin ran the red light at Lincoln Highway and struck a Ford Ranger driven by Kevin Fanta, 22, of Lake Zurich, traveling west on Lincoln Highway, police said. Colvin's vehicle rolled as a result of the crash and sustained significant damage that required authorities to removed Colvin from the vehicle.

Colvin was transported to Kishwaukee Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Fanta was uninjured, police said.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene and police cited Colvin for allegedly disobeying a traffic control signal.
