DeKALB – A 28-year-old DeKalb man died early Saturday morning after he crashed his motorcycle on Bethany Road near Resource Parkway.

Lavell Jones III, of the 500 block of East Taylor Street, was driving west in the curb lane of Bethany Road about 6:15 a.m. Saturday after leaving work with some coworkers when he lost control of the motorcycle, DeKalb police said in a news release. He was wearing a helmet, and police do not believe alcohol was a factor.

Other vehicles had been driving west on Bethany Road at the time of the crash, the release states. DeKalb police and the DeKalb County Coroner's Office are continuing to investigate the crash and interviewing witnesses.
