SYCAMORE – A 40-year-old Sycamore man was charged with driving on a revoked license after he fell asleep while driving Friday morning and ended up in a ditch, authorities said.

David A. Harris, of the 1100 block of Jenny Drive, was driving a minivan westbound on Old State Road from Lovell Road about 8:34 a.m. Friday when he fell asleep and partially ran off the roadway, according to a DeKalb County Sheriff's Office news release.

Harris woke when his minivan veered onto the shoulder, then over-corrected in steering, crossing both lanes and going into the north ditch. The minivan overturned twice before it came to a stop, police said.

Harris was taken to Kishwaukee Hospital for his injuries.
