The Merchants of Downtown Sycamore are hosting the third annual Out of School Food Drive July 8 to 12 to help build a better community by fighting hunger.

Nine businesses in downtown Sycamore will collect food and other items. Any food donations will be appreciated. Monetary donations also will be accepted. Donations will be given to the Sycamore Food Pantry.

Some businesses will offer something special for customers who make food donations, while others will be only collection sites.

The Midwest Museum of Natural History will offer the choice of an adult or child guest pass or 10 percent discount off any gift shop purchase.

Riccardi’s will offer a free mini cone.

Made Just for You will give a free special thank you votive from Bridgewater Candles.

D & D Jewelers will enter the donor’s name into a drawing for a Limited Edition Ladies Night Out bag filled with goodies.

Two Sisters Emporium will give a free gift for any donation.

Bring four food items to The Garden Market and receive 20 percent off a purchase. Each customer bringing in food items will receive an entry for a drawing for a $20 gift certificate. Each food item earns one entry. No purchase required.

Sycamore Antiques, Stomp and Sweet Earth will be collection drop-off spots.
