DeKALB – DeKalb County Community Gardens is asking for online votes to earn a grant to purchase a Veggie Mobile.

The organization applied for a Nature's Path Gardens for Good grant, which will be awarded to three organizations out of 130 that applied. Up to $15,000 will be awarded, and DeKalb County Community Gardens wrote an essay to describe how they would use the money.

The group plans to launch a Garden Paths of Hope program, and purchase a Veggie Mobile truck to distribute vegetables.

People can vote through July 10; voting is open online at bit.ly/1ny4E0P.

DeKalb County Community Gardens works to end hunger at the local level through community involvement, education and more. The group has 40 garden locations throughout the county.
