GOOD HOPE – A western Illinois man has died after he was thrown from his tractor during a traffic accident.

Police in McDonough County say 86-year-old Robert Goodpasture of Good Hope died in the Tuesday crash. Police say he was driving a utility tractor and pulling a rotary hay rake near U.S. 67 at the time. They say another vehicle struck the hay rake, causing the tractor to swerve and sending Goodpasture off the tractor.

Goodpasture was pronounced dead at a Peoria-area hospital.

Good Hope is a village of about 400 residents about 10 miles north of Macomb.
