DeKALB – Two DeKalb businesses were cited for selling alcohol to minors in May during an Illinois Liquor Control Commission undercover compliance check.

Of the 14 licensees checked May 1 in DeKalb, CVS Pharmacy, 1022 W. Lincoln Highway, and Burritoville, 1026 W. Hillcrest Ave., sold alcohol to minors.

The report was part of a statewide initiative. Officials visited 367 businesses licensed to sell liquor in Illinois and cited 62 for violations. Eighty-three percent of the licensees visited complied with Illinois liquor laws and refused to serve underage customers, according to an Illinois Liquor Control Commission news release.
