The Marlyn Majorettes and Majors Color Guard and Drum Corps is looking forward to entertaining spectators in parades and festivals throughout the area.

The corps kicked off its summer performances by taking part in the DeKalb Municipal Band Flag Day celebration at Hopkins Park. They will next appear in the Swedish Days Parade in Geneva on Sunday.

On July 4, the corps will appear in Kirkland's annual parade at 11 a.m.  The unit will then travel to Mount Morris for the 51st Let Freedom Ring parade at 2 p.m.

The corps members will entertain the people with flashing batons, fire batons, high flying flags and percussion marching movements.

Director Marlyn L. Burkart and assistant director Rob Barrow will accompany the corps at their summer events.

Uniforms and equipment are provided for girls and boys in this not-for-profit youth organization. Call 815-895-4166 for information.
