Construction in DeKalb, Waterman announced

The Illinois Department of Transportation is managing construction projects in DeKalb and Waterman, Gov. Pat Quinn announced this week.

Curran Contracting Company of Crystal Lake was awarded a $868,880 contract to resurface 1.9 miles of Route 23 between Gurler Road and Taylor Street, according to a news release. Curran was the lowest of three bidders for the project.

Martin & Company Excavating of Oregon will install new sanitary sewer manholes and a water service line along Route 30 at the IDOT Maintenance Facility west of Route 23. Martin & Company Excavating was the lowest of eight bidders at $89,421.
