Somonauk library sets adult reading program

Published: Saturday, June 14, 2014 5:30 a.m. CDT

The Adult Summer Reading Program at the Somonauk Public Library will begin Monday and run through Aug. 9. Any adult can sign up for the program during the eight-week period.

The program is easy to do, even if you are a busy parent or just a busy person. Participants will be asked to read materials of their choice in 30-minute increments, totaling 100 hours. Participants can read the newspaper, magazine articles, read to their children, or read for pleasure.

New this year: Participants who read four titles from the “Fishing for a Good Book” tank and fill out a Book Rating Card for each, will automatically win a “special prize.”

All participants completing the program will receive something special from the library. During the eight weeks, a name will be drawn for a weekly fun prize.
