Fugitive from Illinois captured in Puerto Rico

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — U.S. authorities and a fugitive task force in Puerto Rico have arrested an alleged sex offender from Illinois.

The U.S. Marshals Service said Tuesday that fugitive Peter Sanchez has been apprehended without incident at a restaurant in the western town of Aguadilla.

He is charged with five counts of felony aggravated sexual assault in Winnebago County, Illinois. The alleged victims are two minors.

Authorities say Sanchez was indicted in June but allegedly fled Illinois for Puerto Rico.

It was not immediately clear if Sanchez has a lawyer.
