This month's Tuesdays on the Town in downtown Sycamore will feature NIU Night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

This month's Tuesdays on the Town in downtown Sycamore will feature NIU Night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Sycamore will paint the town red and black in support of NIU Night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. 

Residents can wear their Huskie gear, meet and greet Northern Illinois University athletes and show off their skills when they participate in mini-sports games. DJ Toxic will provide a family-friendly dance party environment. Take a tour of "The Yard" at Huskie Stadium – a modified version of the new tailgate zone, featuring 2015 vehicles from DeKalb/Sycamore Chevrolet Cadillac GMC. 

Compete in family-friendly games with NIU student athletes. Be part of the general public’s debut showing of the 2014 NIU Victors Highlight Reel. Participate in the interactive raffle with NIU Cheer and climb your way through inflatable obstacles and games. This event also will feature exclusive NIU giveaways. 

Tuesdays on the Town occur on the second Tuesday of each month, May through September, and feature family-friendly activities. Downtown businesses will be open late and feature special offers. Tuesdays on the Town is sponsored by NB&T and the city of Sycamore. For more information on events in Sycamore throughout the summer, visit www.discoversycamore.com.

End the evening with the first Summer on State outdoor movie of the season. The free feature film is "Despicable Me 2," rated PG. Bring lawn chairs and blankets and gather in the parking lot at the corner of Somonauk and Elm streets.
