Lopez awarded sports and health scholarship

Northern Rehab Physical Therapy Specialists presented the 2014 Sports and Health Scholarship to Salvatore Lopez.

Lopez, a senior at Genoa-Kingston High School, was chosen for his outstanding achievements in athletics, academics, and choice to pursue a career in the health care/sports medicine field. He played varsity football all four years of high school and junior varsity and varsity basketball. He earned high honors all four years of his high school career, is a member of the National Honors Society, serves as a student ambassador with the DCP/SAFE program, and volunteers with many Genoa Township Park District community events and Brett’s Run.

Lopez has received many awards, including the Illinois Science Teachers’ Association Outstanding Science Student Award 2013, State Scholar Award 2013, Unanimous All Conference Varsity Football Team 2013, Illinois High School Football Coaches’ Association Academic All State Team 2013, and All Conference Scholar Athlete 2012-13.

This fall, he will attend the University of Iowa with an interest in pharmaceutical chemistry.
