Vegetable pest workshop offered in Sycamore

Candice Miller, U of I Extension Horticulture educator will present “Vegetable Pest and Disease Management” at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Sycamore History Museum at Engh Farm. The Engh Farm is located at 1730 N. Main Street, Sycamore.

Various pest and disease problems are common in a vegetable garden yearly. Come learn how to identify the most common vegetable pests and diseases and hear how to manage them using a variety of cultural, non-chemical or chemical controls. The group will take a walk around the gardens to see what they can identify as well. Feel free to bring samples of pests from your own garden to identify.

The workshop is free and open to the public, donations are welcome. For information, call the University of Illinois Extension office at 815-758-8194, email mpetra@illinois.edu or call the Sycamore History Museum at 815-895-5762.

If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate in this program, call 815-758-8194.
