Dancers show their circus skills at the Performing Arts Academy's spring show.

The Performing Arts Academy will showcase its annual spring performance at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Egyptian Theatre in DeKalb.

Tickets are available through the Egyptian Theatre box office, online or by phone at 815-758-1215. The performance is open to the public.

The Performing Arts Academy will go under the big top and into the circus. Dancers will bring to life cherished childhood memories of classic circus elements. Cute clowns, amazing acrobats and tasty treats are just a few of the many things that you will relive as you watch the dancers perform a variety of dance styles, accompanied by colorful costumes and creative choreography. This is a family-friendly performance.

The Performing Arts Academy provides dance instruction in ballet, storybook ballet, lyrical, contemporary, jazz, tumbling, and aerial silks. The school strives to educate and develop dancers with a pre-professional background in dance. There is an emphasis on ballet training which provides the foundation for dance technique.
