Elks plan DeKalb dinner for veterans

DeKALB – The DeKalb Elks Lodge No. 765 is inviting all DeKalb area veterans and their spouses to a dinner in their honor June 14. 

The event will include a flag retirement ceremony at 3:30 p.m., with check-in and cocktail hour starting at 4:30 p.m. and dinner at 5:30 p.m., according to a news release. The Elks Flag Day ceremony will start at 6:30 p.m. and include awarding a flag to a local veteran.

The menu choice is meatloaf with mashed potatoes or lasagna with garlic bread; all meals include green beans and a desert. Call the lodge at 815-756-6912 to make a reservation. If you cannot make it to the lodge, the Elks would like to deliver your dinner to you. Call and place your order.
