SYCAMORE – The owner of Cub & Spank’s, 113 N. Maple St., Sycamore, will use local grant money to install new windows and doors at his bar.

A $5,000 facade grant was approved Monday during the Sycamore City Council meeting.

Bar owner Adam Swedberg will use the money to install new windows and doors, tuckpoint the upper brick, replace the cedar siding with trimmed panels, repair the cornice and repair, and re-install existing diamond shaped leaded glass.

Any downtown building owner is eligible to receive up to $5,000 from the city of Sycamore through its downtown facade grant fund, which is funded by a transfer from the hotel/motel tax fund, city documents show.
