Crime Stoppers seeks information on hit-and-run

SYCAMORE – Crime Stoppers is looking for information on a May 12 hit-and-run accident near Peace/Plank roads and North Main Street in Sycamore.

A 2011 Toyota Corolla was stopped at a red light heading southwest on Peace Road about 12:01 a.m. May 12 when a black pick-up truck heading northbound on North Main Street made a wide, high-speed right-hand turn onto Peace/Plank roads, hitting the car on the driver's rear door and totaling the car, according to a Crime Stoppers news release.

The black pick-up truck is either a 2007 to 2013 model GMC Sierra or Chevrolet Silverado with a broken or missing front left headlamps and red paint transfer. The driver is described as a skinny, white male between the ages of 20 and 23 wearing a dark hoodie or sweatshirt and jeans, the release states.

Crime Stoppers also is seeking information on two Somonauk fires May 10. The first fire was set about 5 p.m. in a wooded area near North Genoa Road near the north side of the railroad tracks. The second fire was set about 5:10 p.m. in the basement of a house near Graf Street and Rollin Road, the release states.
