Thank for supporting N.I.C.E.

To the Editor:

On Sunday, May 4, more than 150 walkers enjoyed the afternoon walk from the Indian Creek High School parking lot into Shabbona State Park for the 12th annual 5K Walk/Run for N.I.C.E.

The Neighbors In Christ Ecumenical Food and Clothing Center and the 15 churches represented through N.I.C.E. would like to thank all those who participated or donated to the success of the event. A sincere thanks to the Indian Creek Middle School Student Council, students and staff, Shabbona Fire Department Emergency team, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, and Shabbona State Park for their support and assistance that day.

We would like to sincerely thank the following local businesses who were sponsors for the walk: First State Bank, Shabbona and Waterman; Gehant Bank, West Brooklyn; Hintzsche Fertilizer & Chemical; Monsanto Co., Waterman; Pioneer State Bank, Earlville and Paw Paw; Resource Bank, Shabbona; Screwball T-Shirts, Waterman; West Brooklin Farmers Co-op and Winfield, Jim Challand, Shabbona.

Again, thank you for your support and generosity for this important once-a-year fundraiser for our local food and clothing pantry in Lee.
