Kish 5K supports Adventure Works

The KishHealth System Physical Therapy Center is hosting its seventh annual 5K Run/Walk event at 8 a.m. Saturday.The event is intended to be both competitive as well as promote health and fitness for the community. Proceeds will be donated to Adventure Works of DeKalb County.

The run/walk will start and end at the KishHealth System Physical Therapy Center, 2111 Midlands Court in Sycamore. The course is flat and follows city streets. Event day registration and packet pick-up will be available from 6:45 to 7:45 a.m. The run/walk begins promptly at 8 a.m. Pre-registered runners are guaranteed a race T-shirt. Event day registrants will receive a T-shirt while supplies last. Refreshments will be served to all participants both pre- and post-race.

Registration costs $15 for KishHealth System employees, $20 for the general public and $25 for event-day registrants. Awards are given to the overall male and female winners, plus the top three male and female runners in the following age groups: 14 and younger, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and older. A number of raffle prizes also will be given out. Online registration is available through www.kishpt5k.org or  www.signmeup.com.
