The Sycamore baseball team lost Tuesday, 9-8, at Yorkville.

The game was tied at 8 going into the bottom of the seventh, but the Foxes earned a walk-off win on a single down the right field line, which was just fair.

“When you’re going well that ball goes foul. When you’re not going good that ball lands three inches fair,” Sycamore coach Jason Cavanaugh said. “We’re just struggling to put it all together. [Tuesday], we got the offense going, scored a few runs but we weren’t able to put it down defensively.”

Austin Jacox went 2 for 4 with two home runs and three RBIs, while Michael Swanberg was 1 for 3 with a two-run homer and three RBIs.

Nate Haacker had two hits, and Cooper Vinz went 2 for 4.

The Spartans are now 20-10.
