SYCAMORE – Christopher Johnson is due in court Thursday on charges that he hit a man in the head with a hammer and bit him.

Johnson, 31, whose address is listed as Hammond, Indiana, in court records, came home to the apartment he rents with a woman in the first block of East Church Street in Sandwich about 11:30 p.m. Friday, according to court records. He was upset to find the man there and attacked the man, who suffered a cut to his head.

He also bit the woman who lives there on the back of her left forearm, court records show.

Johnson was charged with aggravated battery and domestic battery, the more serious of which typically is punishable by probation or up to five years in prison. He posted $2,000 bail Saturday to remain free while the case is pending.
