SYCAMORE – Those who dine today at Culver's, 1200 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, will be doing a little more than satisfying their hunger.

According to a news release, the Culver’s in Sycamore will be among 64 Chicago area locations that will host a “Day of Giving,” with 10 percent of all sales benefit ting Honor Flight Chicago.

Honor Flight Chicago is a nonprofit organization that escorts World War II veterans for free each month on a one-day trip to the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.

According to National WWII Museum statistics, about 555 World War II veterans die every day. There are now just more than 1 million veterans of the war left alive. About 25,000 World War II veterans live in the Chicago area, according to Honor Flight Chicago's website.

Culver’s owners and associates will welcome veterans back from Washington D.C. upon their return to Midway Airport each month, the release states.
