Prep roundup: Yorkville defeats Sycamore softball

Sycamore’s girls softball team was led offensively by Jasmyne Taylor, who went 2 for 3 at the plate in an 8-2 Spartans loss against Yorkville on Wednesday.

Five Sycamore players also had hits in the game, including McKenna Marcinkoski, Lyndsey Coddington, Paige Bjork, Taylor Aasen and Jordyn Shultz.

LATE TUESDAY

Somonauk 7, Indian Creek 1: At Somonauk, the Timberwolves lost a Little Ten Conference girls softball game.

DeKalb 1, Morris 0: At DeKalb, Morgan Beaty scored the lone goal of the girls soccer match for DeKalb in the Barbs’ win on senior night.

The Barbs finish the regular season 11-3-4 and 6-0-4 in conference play. DeKalb will compete in the Class 2A Burlington Central Regional next week.
