Westminster Presbyterian Church in DeKalb will hold a 50th anniversary worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday, followed by a reception. The Rev. Blake Richter will reflect on the past, present and future in his message to the congregation. Former pastors in attendance will take part in the service.

Westminster Presbyterian Church was officially established on May 17, 1964. Worship services were first held at the Masonic Temple, and the first building for the church was completed in January 1969. Since that time, additions and significant remodeling have taken place.

A 50th anniversary worship service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, followed by a reception. The worship service will include the Joy Ringers bell choir, as they play “The Church’s One Foundation” with an organ accompanist. The Rev. Blake Richter will reflect on the past, present and future in his message to the congregation. Former pastors in attendance will take part in the service.

The community is invited to join in this celebration rejoicing about where the church has come from and looking to the future. A concert series celebrating the church’s anniversary will continue with a concert June 22 by pianist Jim Hendricks.

Westminster Presbyterian Church is located at 830 N. Annie Glidden Road, DeKalb.
