D-Day presentation at Sycamore library

Published: Monday, May 5, 2014 4:39 p.m. CDT

Sycamore Public Library will host a special two-hour presentation by local author Robert Mueller, commemorating the 70th anniversary of D-Day, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

This Second World War Lecture Series discusses both “The Men of Omaha Beach,” painting the picture of Omaha Beach and providing insight into the how and where the invasion took place, as well as “The Airborne on D-Day,” describing the actions of men, who, off target, frequently lost, and lacking heavy weapons, denied the German occupying force the ability to counterattack the American amphibious landings. This event is free and open to the public.

For more details, call the Sycamore Public Library staff at 815-895-2500, ext. 28, email jilld.syclib@gmail.com or visit www.sycamorelibrary.org.
