Prep roundup: Morris evens series with DeKalb baseball

The DeKalb baseball team suffered a 6-2 loss Tuesday at Morris.

Jake Kuykendall finished 2 for 3 with a home run for the Barbs, while Josh Snead was 2 for 3. Jake Cook took the loss, giving up four earned runs in three innings. He finished with one strikeout. The Barbs are now 6-8 and 1-7 in the Northern Illinois Big 12 East. The two teams will play the rubber match of their three-game series at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Dave Pettengell Field in DeKalb.

Hawks fall: Somonauk beat Hiawatha, 2-1 in eight innings. The Hawks, who had just three hits, fall to 7-4 and 6-4 in the Little Ten.
