Prep roundup: DeKalb tennis falls to Belvidere North

The DeKalb boys tennis team lost to Belvidere North, 3-2, on Monday.

The Barbs’ No. 2 doubles team of Nate Newman and Sean Connors won, 6-3, 6-1, while the No. 3 doubles squad of Justin Peele and Gabe Olalde won, 6-0, 6-0.

DeKalb is 5-4.

BASEBALL

Knights top Foxes: Anthony Holubecki struck out nine batters in six innings for Kaneland in a 2-0 win over Yorkville. Nick Stahl earnd the save for the Knights (11-4, 7-0 Northern Illinois Big 12 East).

Joey Panico went 1 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI for Kaneland, Sean Dunphy finished 2 for 2 and Jacob Bachio went 1 for 2 with a run scored.
