SYCAMORE – A new steakhouse at the former Johnny’s Charhouse in Sycamore is on track for a June opening.
Building renovations at 1950 DeKalb Ave. started earlier this year and appear to be on schedule with the timeline proposed by Louisville, Ky.-based Texas Roadhouse, building owner John Pappas said. The steakhouse chain has more than 400 locations in 48 states, with 14 Illinois locations.
“I saw the signs were installed and see things are moving along,” Pappas said. “It’s looking good to me, and I haven’t heard anything different.”
The former tenant in the space, Johnny’s Charhouse, closed in May after 15 years at that location.
The renovations will transform the space to give it the prototypical look of a Texas Roadhouse. A restaurant recently opened in Crystal Lake, and there are other locations in Rockford, Naperville and Joliet.
