Three local students have been inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

Julene Ensign of Cortland and John Medcalf of Kingston, both initiated into the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign chapter, and Nancy Tegtman of Hampshire, initiated into the Western Illinois University chapter, are among about 32,000 students, faculty, staff and alumni initiated nationwide this year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate school students and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership.
