DeKALB – The Northern Illinois women’s basketball team announced the addition of Eastern Illinois University transfer Katlyn Payne on Wednesday afternoon in a news release. The 5-foot, 11-inch redshirt senior guard, who played three seasons with the Panthers, will be available to play the 2014-15 season as she will graduate from EIU this spring as a one-time transfer. Payne will enter the public administration master’s program at NIU this summer.

Payne averaged 13.8 points a game in 28 starts during the 2013-14 season. She finished the year with a .415 field goal percentage, including a clip of .405 behind the 3-point line on 79-of-195 shooting. The St. Charles native averaged 4.6 rebounds a game last season.
