Kishwaukee College will host a performance by the McNulty Irish Dancers at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Kishwaukee College Theater (B1205). Visitors should park in the North/B-Parking Lot and enter through Door 56. The performance is free and open to the public.
The McNulty School of Irish Dance is located in Naperville and is one of the largest and most active schools of traditional Irish dance in the Midwest. The school was founded in 1971 by Barbara McNulty. She is recognized by An Coimisiun (the Irish Dance Commission in Dublin, Ireland) and the North American and Mid-American Irish Dance Teachers Associations and is fully certified to teach Irish Step Solo, Figure and Ceili dancing. Because of her certifications and recognitions, the McNulty Irish Dancers are eligible to compete in sanctioned Irish Dance Competitions around the world.
The performance at Kishwaukee College will feature a variety of traditional Irish dances with the performers wearing the green/black/white embroidered costumes that are customary in Irish dance culture. The evening also will include live Celtic music and narrated interpretation of the performances.
The event is sponsored by the Kishwaukee College International Education Committee and the Continuing Education Department.
