Malta library giving away free books

MALTA – Members of the Malta Library Board will give away free books today to promote reading.

Malta Library Board members will give away copies of “Code Name Verity” by Elizabeth Wien and large print versions of “Where’d You Go Bernadette” by Maria Semple at 6 p.m. today at Malta Library, 203 Adams St.

The movie, “The Book Thief,” based upon the book by Markus Zusak, will also be shown.

The free books will be given to young adults and adults who consider themselves to be light or nonreaders during the program, which is sponsored by World Book Night U.S.
