May 16 is the deadline for reservations for the Northern Illinois University Annuitants Association trip to Chicago’s Museum of Science & Industry on June 24.

The group will see the Omnimax film “D-day Normandy 1944” and take a guided tour inside a U-505 German submarine. These exhibits are part of the 70th anniversary of the capture of the U-505 German submarine during WWII and also of D-Day.

Participants will have time to visit other exhibits of interest such as Colleen Moore’s Fairy Castle, Pioneer Zephyr, The Great Train Story, Baby Chick factory, the Coal Mine and more. Admission and a box lunch is included.

The group will depart NIU at 9:39 a.m. and Oak Crest at 10:01 a.m. and leave the museum at 3:30 p.m. to return to DeKalb. The cost is $118 per person.
