Immanuel Lutheran offers Christianity 101

Published: Friday, April 25, 2014 5:30 a.m. CDT

Immanuel Lutheran Church and Student Center in DeKalb will offer Christianity 101, a seven-week class that will cover the basics of the Christian faith from the Lutheran perspective.

This is an ideal class for those desiring to learn more about the church or who are considering membership. Don’t let the name fool you; this is a spiritually and Biblically “deep” class presented in an easy-to-understand manner. This also is a good class to re-learn, or perhaps learn for the first time, many important Biblical principles, even for longtime members of Immanuel. Members are welcome to attend specific classes if there is a topic of interest.

The class will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sundays, April 27 through June 15 in the fellowship hall.

The first three sessions are:

April 27 – Introduction and Who is God? The Apostles Creed.

May 4 – What are the commandments?

May 11 – God’s Word: What is it?

The church is located at 511 Russell Road. For more information, call Pastor Marty or Pastor Ray at 815-756-6669.
