Scholarships offered in Sycamore

Published: Wednesday, April 9, 2014 5:30 a.m. CDT

Sycamore students can apply for two scholarships offered by the Sycamore Education Association.

Each spring, the SEA awards one scholarship to a college sophomore, junior or senior pursuing a degree in education. Applicants must be an alumnus of Sycamore High School. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded at the Sycamore Education Association End of the Year Breakfast.

Ray Lambert was a dedicated social studies teacher who taught in the Sycamore district for 36 years. Upon his death in 2007, his family created a scholarship in his name. The Lambert family funds this scholarship each year. The Ray Lambert Scholarship is awarded to a Sycamore High School senior considering a career in education. The SEA President presents this $1,000 scholarship to the recipient on Senior Night.

Applications for both scholarships are now available in the guidance office at Sycamore High School.
