DeKALB – A complete game, one-hit shutout by Alex Klonowski – the first for Northern Illinois baseball since April 1, 1997, at Valparaiso – served as a catalyst for a Northern Illinois victory over Toledo on Sunday afternoon as the Huskies defeated the Rockets, 7-0.

Klonowski also went 1 for 3 at the plate with a run, an RBI and walk. Brian Sisler, a DeKalb graduate, drove in two runs for the Huskies (6-21-1, 3-6 Mid-American Conference).

The senior was dynamic on the mound as he finished with eight hitless innings and nine strikeouts against the Rockets (12-13, 4-5 MAC), allowing the hit to Toledo’s Tyler Grogg in the second at-bat of the game.
