Glidden Goods will hold a special Spring Fest from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the fair trade shop inside Glidden Florist on West Lincoln Highway in DeKalb.

The free event will include live music by local musicians, glass-blowing demonstrations and opportunities to meet local artists. Second Street Coffee will give coffee brewing demonstrations and tastings. Information will be available about what it means to “buy fair trade.”

Everyone who attends will receive a free rose.

Glidden Goods is the only store of its kind in DeKalb. In addition to a full floral selection, it also offers a unique selection of handmade items and is the only store that features fair trade merchandise.

“We hope people come out and have fun with this free community event. It should be fun for everyone,” store owner Sven Hansen said in a news release.
