Tasty ways to use fresh vegetables

Cooking with Fresh Garden Produce is a program designed to help participants learn how to prepare vegetables. It includes 13 kitchen-tested recipes and four fact sheets on the uncommon vegetables eggplant, kale, kohlrabi and Swiss chard. It also includes practical tips for cooking safely, nutritional value and healthy cooking methods.

Marilyn Csernus, University of Illinois Extension nutrition and wellness educator, will present the program at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the DeKalb County Center for Agriculture, 1350 W. Prairie Drive in Sycamore. The fee is $5.
