History museum to hold junior docent training

The Sycamore History Museum is hosting a junior docent program training information class at 6:30 p.m. April 17 at 1730 N. Main St., in Sycamore.

A docent gives tours to museum visitors, leads craft activities during summer programs, and may even be involved in some Youtube videos sharing interesting stories about Sycamore history. Participants in the training will learn about the upcoming exhibit, “General Dutton’s America.” Summer opportunities also will be discussed. Junior docents can be in fifth grade through high school. 

Participants will be trained and receive a T-shirt. Parents are encouraged to attend, but not required. To sign up or for more information, call 815-895-5762 or send emailmichelle@sycamorehistory.org.
