DeKALB – Two men were arrested early Thursday after police found about four pounds of marijuana and a half ounce of cocaine in a DeKalb apartment where both were staying, authorities said.
Adrian O. Chaney, 30, of the 1400 block of Twombly Road, DeKalb, and Kenny D. Chamberlain, 27, of the 600 block of Roosevelt Court, Sycamore, were arrested after authorities searched Chaney’s apartment about 5:15 a.m., according to a DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office news release. Authorities received a search warrant for the apartment as part of an ongoing investigation by DeKalb police and DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies.
Police also found an undisclosed amount of money, the news release states.
Chaney was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
If convicted of the most serious charge, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, Chaney would face between six and 30 years in prison.
Chamberlain was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
If convicted of the charge, he would face between one and three years in prison.
Both men remained in DeKalb County Jail on Thursday awaiting their court date today, when a judge will set bond.
