Published: Friday, March 21, 2014 5:30 a.m. CST

The women of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1915 N. First St., DeKalb, will host their annual Spring Banquet on April 5th.

The luncheon starts at noon and will be followed by a special program at 1 p.m. on ELCA Global Missions given by the Rev. Twila Schock. She will share the story of 18 years spent serving as a missionary in Slovakia, Germany and Russia and as director for Missionary Sponsorship and Global Gifts.

The luncheon is a women’s event; men are welcome to attend the presentation after the meal. The luncheon will include all-white-meat chicken salad served on leaf lettuce with pineapple spears, grapes and blackberries. Croissants and cranberry walnut bread will accompany the meal. Dessert will include layers of vanilla shortcake, fresh whipped cream and tart lemon curd.

Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6 to 12. Children younger than 6 eat for free. Childcare is provided and free.

Call the church office at 815-758-3203 to reserve tickets before April 1.
