EAST ST. LOUIS – An East St. Louis man faces possible life in federal prison after being convicted of charges that he attacked and abducted a man in 2012.

A jury in East St. Louis on Thursday convicted Antwon Jenkins of kidnapping and weapons counts after a three-day trial.

Authorities say that in July 2012, Jenkins lured the victim to his home and attacked the victim with the help of others for allegedly burglarizing Jenkins' second home in Cahokia.

Jenkins then drove the victim to Franklin County, at least twice threatening the man at gunpoint. The victim eventually escaped after running into woods.

Jenkins' sentencing is scheduled for June 27.
