Whether just starting out or updating your food preservation knowledge, join University of Illinois Extension nutrition and wellness educator Marilyn Csernus for this informative program from 1:30 to 3 p.m. March 25 at the DeKalb County Extension office, 1350 W. Prairie Drive in Sycamore. The fee for this program is $5 and pre-registration is preferred by March 21.
Topics covered include basics of food preservation, up-to-date home food safety guidelines, the latest scientific methods for preserving food safely, and testing dial pressure canner gauges. Participants should bring their canner lids to test the gauge for accuracy.
