MAPLE PARK – Peter Goff will be the next athletic director at Kaneland High School, emerging from a group of five semifinalists.
Goff's hiring was approved Monday by the School District 302 Board, and the hiring was announced by Superintendent Jeff Schuler on Monday night at the district's board meeting.
"Peter emerged through a very thorough process," Schuler said "We're pleased to formally introduce Pete."
According to a news release issued Tuesday by Schuler, Goff begins his new role on July 1. He currently is the dean of students at Sycamore High School, a role he has had for two years. Before that, he was the head basketball coach at Bloomington High School, where he also taught history.
Goff will begin his contract at a salary of $85,000 plus benefits, the release stated.
Ralph Drendel and Rudy Keller have been serving as interim athletic directors at the school. Former athletic director Leigh Jaffke resigned from her position in October.
