The Union/Virgil Ditches and the East Branch of the Kishwaukee River Watershed Outreach Committee will host a meeting to update stakeholders on the watershed study underway in eastern DeKalb County and western Kane County on March 20.

The 78,000 acre watershed runs from Sycamore east to Route 47 and from Burlington south to Elburn and Cortland.

Project consultant Hey and Associates will update participants on the study. The presenters will look at potential project areas and the best management practices that could be used to address resource concerns. Conservation officials will discuss the best management practices and ask for feedback from stakeholders.

The meeting will be held at the DeKalb County Farm Bureau’s Center for Agriculture. A light breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. and the meeting will begin at 9 a.m. To RSVP, contact Dean Johnson at the DeKalb County Soil and Water Conservation District at 815-756-3237 ext. 3 or dean.johnson@il.nacdnet.net.
