Sinister snakes, bumbling bears and a barrel full of monkeys will highlight the Children’s Community Theatre Production of “Jungle Book Kids,” to be performed March 28 through 30 at Sycamore High School.

The is a stage adaptation of the Disney cartoon movie, which was based upon a Rudyard Kipling tale. It tells the story of a boy, Mowgli, who was raised in the jungle by wolves. When Shere Khan, a terrible tiger, returns to the jungle, Mowgli’s animal friends decide that he must be returned to the human world. Guiding him on that journey are the loveable, but careless Baloo the Bear, and the protective panther, Bagheera. Along the way they encounter wayward elephants, manic monkeys and hungry snakes.

The show includes classic Disney tunes such as “I Want to Be Like You” and “The Bare Necessities,” as well as a number of other show stoppers. Colorful costumes and creative sets also make this production fun for the whole family.

The show will be presented at 7 p.m. March 28 and 29, with 2 p.m. matinees on March 29 and 30. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children. They can be purchased in advance online at CCTOnstage.com, by phone at 815-899-8160, ext. 2173, or at the Sycamore High School Box Office between 4:30 and 7 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays.
