Genoa-Kingston boys baskeball won its final regular-season game of the year, finishing with an 81-68 win on the road against Rochelle.

The Cogs (17-9) were led by Sal Lopez's 18 points. Tommy Hansen added 17 while Griffin McNeal recorded 12 and Eli Thurlby chipped in with 11.

We played another game without Tommy Lucca," G-K coach Corey Jenkins said. "Our guys stepped up a little bit tonight without him. We have to have him for regionals."

Jenkins expects Lucca to be ready for G-K's first playoff game on Monday against Montini in the Class 3A Genoa-Kingston Regional quarterfinals.

Sycamore dominates: Sycamore defeated LaSalle-Peru, 70-32, in a Northern Illinois Big 12 crossover matchup.

Hiawatha falls: Hiawatha lost to Freeport Aquin, 73-52, in the Class 1A Forreston Regional quarterfinals.

Senior Mike Mercado led the Hawks with 16 points in the loss.
