Toledo (23-4, 11-3 Mid-American Conference) at Northern Illinois (12-14, 6-8 MAC)

WHEN: 7 p.m. today, Convocation Center

RADIO: AM-1360 WLBK, FM 98.9

LAST MEETING: Toledo defeated NIU, 77-68, on Jan. 22 in Toledo.

SCOUTING THE ROCKETS: The Rockets have won five of their last six games after hitting a mid-season skid in conference.

They are the highest scoring team in the MAC at 81 points a game and are led by Justin Brown (15 ppg) and Rian Pearson (14.1 ppg).

While Toledo is a perfect 13-0 at home, the Rockets are a more pedestrian 8-4 on the road.

OUTLOOK: The Huskies lost another close game in their last outing at Central Michigan as two late 3-point attempts wouldn’t go down.

Freshman Aaric Armstead is thriving as a starter, averaging 15.5 points and 6.8 rebounds a game in his last four contests. He is currently fourth among freshmen in scoring (9.3 ppg) in the conference.

The Huskies find themselves in the middle of the pack in the MAC with a 6-8 record. An upset win over Toledo could go a long way towards deciding whether NIU will host a first-round game in the MAC Tournament.
